California Wildfires

I just received an e-mail from Red Brecke. E-mail reads (Went to my place today everything is okay, no power looks like it's been off two or three days, one house lost just a few blocks away, I think we were very, very lucky, still many fires going on, however not close to us).

.

That is really great news.

.

I have not heard if any of our other chili cooks are having a problem with the fires. If anybody has heard anything about one of our cooks please let us know ASAP.

Message from Carol Hancock

NFL GOLF TOURNAMENT/CHILI COOKOFF

.

This event has NOT been canceled and everything is a go! The NFL website has all of the cooks names listed under Vendors By Hole on the NFL website - that's http://www.nflasd.com/. It's expected that the air will be mostly clear by Saturday, so hopefully on Monday, the only thing in the air will be the smell of chili!!

.

We would still like to find two additional cooks for this event. Since time is of the essence, if you're interested in participating in this special event with the NFL Alumni Association, please contact me directly at 949-375-3939. Thanks!

.

THANK YOU

.

Dave and I want to thank all of you who have called about our safety during the fires. We've received four emergency 911 reverse calls for evacuation, but have been able to stay put. Being threatened by fires on both sides of Coto de Caza has been unsettling, but today things are looking up.
