It's been a long week for most of the Northeast cooks. After travelling to the World Championships last weekend, and getting home Monday night or later, most cooks were back out cooking chili at the Hudson Valley Regional Chili Cookoff yesterday, the 17th. Things were a little iffy, as we had gotten some snow on Thursday and they were forecasting more snow showers Saturday. But luck was on our side. It was sunny at first, though cold, and the clouds rolled in, but not a drop of precipitation all day. As usual, the Woodstock Harley-Davidson dealership sponsoring the venue did a great job getting the public interested in the chili. Not many spectators came on their bikes, since the temperature was about 47 degrees, but they still came. There is always a great band at this cookoff, usually a trio of great musicians. This year was no exception. The Mojo Myles Band entertained the cooks and crowd all day. Myles Mancuso is a 14 year old phenomenal blues musician. He plays in clubs in NY all the time. It was a pleasure hearing this talented young man. We hope he comes back next year, and the cooks look forward to working with all the great folks at Woodstock Harley-Davidson.
