Due to the iffy nature of the verde & salsa competitions several cooks have canceled out of the red event, dropping the numbers below the required 7. Rebecca and the staff at Cedar Ridge felt it was best to cancel the event for this year. They would like to thank all those that had inquired and thought about the cookoff.

ICS WORLD WRANGLERS

As always, producing the WCCC is an all volunteer, lot of work kind of weekend. I am looking for folks that would like to help in the judging booth to setup, table monitor, and generally assist as needed. Anyone interested, please contact Steve Porter (portchili@frontiernet.net) before Thursday, October 4.

COLMAN TYPE COOK STOVES

.

I would like to remind everybody cooking in the WCCC

that you have to use a Coleman Type Cook Stove that uses propane.

Last year we had some cooks that showed up with stoves that used white gas. This made the events people very nervous as they were afraid the fire marshal would shut them down. I was able to provide those cooks with a propane type stove.

.

I well have a few extra stoves with me this year as well for anybody discovering that there stove does not work. They're not the greatest looking in the world, but they will do the job.
