If you have never seen a bed race, you need to come to the BEATTY DAYS REGIONAL on November 1st. This weekend is like going back to the old west for sure, with women dressed up like old pioneers, and you absolutely have to visit the Death Valley Nut and Candy Store, they have just about every kind of candy you could want, both old and new. Come on out and join us for a fun weekend.

WANNATOUCHAMA REGIONAL CHILE COOK-OFF

October 25, 2008 at Lions Park in beautiful Apple Valley CA. Presented by the Rotary club of Apple Valley winners qualify for WCCC 2009! Once again wherever that may be. We are anticipating good weather, warm during the day and pleasant evenings. If you have an RV this is a great cookoff as we will circle the wagons with plenty of room for all. WE LOVE OUR COOKS! Free Friday Night Appreciation Dinner for cooks judges and sponsors 6 to 8 p.m. sponsored by Out Of This World BBQ. Free Saturday breakfast 630 to 8:30 a.m. sponsored by the Newton Outpost Café Hesperia, CA.

Red Chili First Place $1000 Second-Place $500 Third-Place $250
Chile Verde First Place $750 Second-Place $400 Third-Place $200
Salsa First Place $100 Second-Place $50 Third-Place $25

That is a total of over $3200 in prize money. There is also a prize for Best Booth $100. Live Music. Raffles all day. People's Choice (by ballot) First Place $150 Second-Place $75 Plus Plaques for First Second and Third.
