COOK'S CORNER'S REGIONAL

June 27th, 2009

.

This was the 3rd year for the Cook's Corner's Regional, and it was once again a successful cookoff. The cooking area is not easy to get into, but the cooks were patient about it and waited their turn. Cook's Corner's is a biker bar in Trabuco Canyon and it draws a lot of bikers and non-bikers alike and they all love chili. We had a lot of people come out to help with the judging, including Dick and Nancy Swenberger from Arizona, also the Beaty's drove from Bakersfield. We really appreciate everyone coming out for this cookoff. A big thank you to Nancy Swenberger, Sylvia Steinberg and my Sister Marge for all their help with the Scorekeeping, and everyone else who helped with the tables. Also, the weather was quite warm, (about 90 degrees.) It was the warmest day yet in CA this month. Now for the important stuff.

Stinky Gaskill

This is an update on George (Stinky) Gaskill, a long time chilihead. He is not doing very well, Hospice has been brought in to handle his problems. He has memory lapses and doesn't hear very well. He enjoyed receiving the get well cards everyone sent him a few months ago, maybe everyone could once again send him a card to let him know we are thinking about him.

Address for George (Stinky) Gaskill,

429 So. Grand Ave.,

Glendora, CA 91741

.

Thanks a lot! Bobbie
