The 32^nd Annual National Kidney Foundation of Eastern Missouri presented a great event with music, food and of course lot of Chili and Salsa Full results to follow:

Avi Casino Thanksgiving Weekend

As the World Championships grows near, it's time to start thinking ahead to next year's cookoffs! There will be Back-to-Back Regionals at the Avi Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, on the Friday and Saturday immediately following Thanksgiving. The High Desert Robinson Regional will be held on Friday, November 23, 2007, and the Mojave Desert Regional will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007.

The Avi Casino is located on the west bank of the Colorado River, in the very southern tip of Nevada, about two hours south of Las Vegas, and directly across the river from Bullhead City, Arizona.

.

Terry "Cowboy" Smith

Terry "Cowboy" Smith of the Dead Serious Chili Team passed away on September 24^th after a short illness. Terry was a great competitor and without him chili cookoffs will be a little less fun. He was looking forward to going to Omaha (he qualified by winning the Sunshine Regional in January) along with his son Doug who won the Gulf Coast Regional. Terry's family and friends are making sure Doug still attends. Visit his booth on Sunday and give him your condolences.

THE ALLTHINGSCHILI.COM SHOP HAS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR THE ICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. COYOTE JODI AND I WILL BE BACK ON OCTOBER 16 OR 17.

COLMAN TYPE COOK STOVES

.

I would like to remind everybody cooking in the WCCC

that you have to use a Coleman Type Cook Stove that uses propane.

Last year we had some cooks that showed up with stoves that used white gas. This made the events people very nervous as they were afraid the fire marshal would shut them down. I was able to provide those cooks with a propane type stove.

.

I well have a few extra stoves with me this year as well for anybody discovering that there stove does not work. They're not the greatest looking in the world, but they will do the job.
