Perris Valley Regional
The 8th Annual Perris Valley Regional Cookoff was held on a dreary day. The sky was overcast and the mood in the air was one of dissapointment. For the previous 7 years, this cookoff has always attracted more than 20 cooks. But not so this year, as most went to another venue. But those who did support the American Legion Post 595, had a great time, breakfast, and entertainment. Bernie Foley and the Legion put their hearts and soul into this cookoff to make it run smoothly and to have everything we need. The job they do is greatly appreciated.
The judges included Steve Wright, Wolf, and Porter (Linda as well), Mike and Tony Austin.
Bob Dyer & Barry Steinberg for Red, and Darlene Taylor for Green were appreciated by myself and Claude Covington; the Chief Judge for this cookoff.
The Winners:
People's Choice (by 7 points)
Steve Crawford
3rd and 2nd Honorable Mention:
Karen Angotti
Steve Crawford
1st Place: Tish Crawford
3rd Place: Barry Steinberg
2nd Place: Bob Dyer (won the tie)

Congratulations and thanks to all who cooked. Also a big thanks to Bernie Foley and the American Legion Post 595 for the breakfast, lunch and entertainment throughtout the day. I for one will be proud to be there next year, and I hope more of you will be there to support this cookoff (if they even have it again) next year.
