Hawaii State Chili Cookoff 2010!

.

Kudos, once again, to Jack and Donna Scaff, their family and friends for the most unique chili cook off in the ICS, bar none! I will be posting unique video footage for those who have never been. The chili cook party takes place before Memorial Day with live entertainment at Jack and Donnas' residence overlooking Waikiki. Dinner and beverages were provided, but the evening was done by 8 pm. There was more to come tomorrow...

.

Memorial Day. Chili cookoff day. The morning began with chili cook breakfast at the Scaffs residence! The patio overlooking Waikiki was an awesome setting for the repas, awaiting the Memorial Day "fly over" that can be viewed close up!

.

From 10 am on, the food flowed! Each guest that came brought a dish to share. A giant potluck! Every five minutes, something new to try.

.

11:50 am. The chili proclamations in three different languages.

High noon. Firing of the cannon.

Then the cooking begins and three different music venues commence.

.

Mariachi band in the garage.

Variety band downstairs.

Roaming barbershop quartet.

.

Free bar, but the best, there? A gas powered weed whacker transformed into a margarita blender.

.

You want a REAL cookoff? Come here! You have three more years and it's gone....

.

Now? The winners;

Nebraska Cookoffs

This weekend the annual Chili Float river boat ride has been cancelled.

Also needed are your own tent canopy and weights to hold it down.

City of Omaha will not allow staking the grounds any longer. Sorry for the trouble.

See you this weekend.
