WESTERN REGIONAL CHILI COOKOFF

UPDATE ON THIS YEARS' WESTERN REGIONAL CHILI COOKOFF: DUE TO SCHEDULING PROBLEMS WITH AVAILABLE BANDS, THE EVENING CONCERT HAS BEEN CANCELLED THIS YEAR. ON THE PLUS SIDE, COOKS WILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE IN AFTER THE LAST RACE TO PICK UP THEIR GEAR. CARTS WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THOSE THAT MIGHT LEAVE EARLY AND ALSO TO TAKE COOKS TO THEIR VEHICLES.

SOMETHING NEW: THE THOROUGHBRED CLUB WILL BE GIVING EACH COOK A STUDIO CHAIR TO TAKE HOME!

THIS IS YEAR 20 FOR WESTERN REGIONAL, 1987 THRU 2007. WE'LL BE DOING SOME NICE THINGS FOR PARTICIPATING COOKS, SPECIAL BADGES, ADDITIONAL GOODIES, ETC. TO COMMEMORATE THIS SPECIAL EVENT.

MORE, THE HAND CARVED KNIFE SHARPENERS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST 30 PREPAID RED CHILI COOKS.

ENTRY FEES:

$30.00 RED, 30.00 CHILI VERDE ($55.00 FOR BOTH) AND $20.00 FOR SALSA. THIS IS A REGIONAL, THEREFORE ALL WINNERS WILL ADVANCE TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN OMAHA IN OCTOBER.

A MINIMUM OF 2 GALLONS OF PEOPLE'S CHOICE IS REQUIRED PER THE TRACKS' REQUEST. THERE IS MONEY AND A TROPHY FOR PEOPLES' CHOICE.

THE DATE, SATURDAY, AUGUST 11, 2007 AT DELMAR RACE TRACK IN SAN DIEGO.

YOU NEED TO RESPOND SO THAT WE WILL HAVE TIME TO MAIL YOUR PARKING PASSES!

AS USUAL, WE'LL BE SUPPLYING THE HANDICAP BOOKS FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.

Millville District Chili Cookoff

To: All the Chili Cooks that are attending the Millville District Chili Cookoff 7-7-07.

The Millville District Chili Cookoff and SUMMERFEST IS SATURDAY, JULY 7^th! Many of the out of town chili cooks are staying at The Country Inn located next to Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center. There is a small bar at the Paperwaiter Restaurant located next to The Country Inn. The address is 1501 Glasstown Road. We've decided to meet for a couple of drinks at approximately 6:00PM Friday evening, July 6^th. Come out and meet your fellow cooks! Looking forward to seeing you all.

This cookoff originally held in Fillmore for years on July 4th moved to the Garden Grove Elks chaired by Don Hammes. The cookoff is moving this year to a great new venue - Cook's Corner Bar & Pub in Trabuco Canyon. Parking isn't far away from the booth site, but you may want to bring a cart. There will be help for anyone who needs it.

Just a reminder that Cypress will be held on July 28th, this is a cookoff that has been around for a very long time and it gets lots and lots of spectators. Would like to see our friends come out to support this cookoff once again. It is located at 5700 Orange Ave in Cypress, behind the Community Center. Norm and I will once again be Chief Judge and Scorekeeper.
