River Resorts Regional
Hi, Fellow Chiliheads,
.
We are less than a week away from the 22nd Annual Lost Lake Resort Chili Cookoff aka River Resorts Regional. If you've been there, you know that it is a very special cookoff. If you haven't been there yet, give it a try. You will be greeted with fun and hospitality and something a little different.
.
We are not overwhelmed with entries, so there is plenty of room for more cooks. If you're coming, please let us know. If you've told us at a cookoff somewhere, we have probably forgotten, so please go to the ICS web site and send us an entry. Or just send us an email and say "I'll be there".
.
Hope to see you on November 22nd at the 22nd Annual Lost Lake Resort Chili Cookoff.

Ghon Eckley Update
Ghon moved to the cardiac care unit late Wednesday afternoon. So far tonight, things are going well. Ghon had a consult with an electro specialist (fancy name that I cant remember) who said if the meds don't straighten things out, he could be looking at a shock treatment/procedure ten days post-op to get the heart beating appropriately.
.
The great news about today is that his final two drains were removed. Only things left hanging out of him are the pacemaker wires. If this heart rate gets settled soon...they'll be out too.
.
So for those that wanted to visit...it's still play by ear and call first. He's been too tired to even think about visitors. Also, it looks like he will be here at least throught Monday, most likely Tuesday, but it's still too early to tell. I'm here again tonight (a big thanks to my sister for babysitting...again). I've been promoted from ice chip distributor to fruit feeder and back massager. :) And today - I heard his new valve ticking. Sounds just like a wind up clock. :)
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Keep 'em coming. I can't wait to have him and Jonathan back in the house with me.

Leah Wieland Update
Just a note to let everyone know that Leah started her radiation and chemo a couple weeks ago. She has radiation 5 days a week, and chemo every other week. They also found a spot on her liver and lung, but they are not sure if it is cancer. She is doing the treatments as an out-patient. I just think that it would be nice to send her a card to let her know you are thinking about her. She doesn't do computers, so a card by snail mail would work. Just want her to know that everyone is thinking about her and praying for her, even though she will probably kill me for doing this. She says she doesn't want any special attention, but I think she deserves it.
