Chili Cooks,

I have secured a host hotel for the 1st Rhode Island State Chili Cookoff.

The host hotel will be The Best Western in Newport,RI. The address is: 151 Admiral Kalbfus Road, Newport, Rhode Island, 02840-1310 and the telephone number is:401-849-9880.

The rate will be $68 a night plus tax. You must ask for the "Chili Cooks" rate". The Best Western Hotel is approx.19 minutes/9.52 miles from the cookoff site. For those cooks that are flying,The Best Western Hotel is 39 minutes and 27.75 miles from T.F. Green airport.

We will also have a cooks welcome party in the Best Western Hotel lounge on 2-27 from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. This will give cooks an opportunity to get together to say hello to our friends from March of Dimes RI,our chief judge and score keeper and all of the other cooks that will be there.

We really look forward to seeing you in Rhode Island for the first ICS sanctioned Chili Cookoff the last weekend in February 2009.

Update on Joy Bilozir;

.

Had a CAT scan today. They're taking fluids out of her lungs and she has 11 ivs in her. She's not feeling good at all. She is alert and is using a laser setup to communicate. They will know more by this evening. The feeling is that there are only days left.

Please pray for Randy and Joy as they go through this awful experience.
