GARDEN GROVE ELKS CHILI FEST REGIONAL

TUESDAY, JULY 4TH, 2006

Don't forget all you Chiliheads, if you don't win this weekend at the Santa Ana Cookoff, be sure to come to the July 4th Regional being held at the Garden Grove Elks Lodge located on the corner of Trask and Newhope in Garden Grove. This is a really great cookoff, and the Elks are very good to the Chiliheads. The prize money is really good, paying down to 5th place. There is also good prize money for Chili Verde, and a $100.00 prize for People's Choice. Don and I hope to see all you cooks there and, if you are already qualified please come out to support the cookoff and help with the judging. There will be two People's Choice prizes, one for ICS and one for locals. There is also an Amateurs contest for the locals that will be judged by the ICS judges.

Bob and Kathy Plager will be there celebrating their Anniversary, so if you see them strolling the chili grounds please wish them a Happy Anniversary.

CYPRESS DISTRICT CHILI COOKOFF

JULY 22ND, 2006

Cypress is a small District held at Oak Knoll Park, 5700 Orange Ave, Cypress, CA. If you still need one District to qualify for the World, this is the one to cook at. The whole community gets involved in this cookoff, and there are lots and lots of craft vendors. In the past they have only done Red Chili and Salsa, they will do Verde if they get enough cooks interested. Please let me (Bobbie) know if you will be there and what you will be entering so I can plan accordingly, my email address is chiliahr@veawb.coop Lets try to make this a regional, it is a great venue for it. There is a $25.00 prize, plus trophy for best booth, so bring your decorations and join in the fun. Norm is Chief Judge of this one, and it is one of our favorite cookoffs. And, once again if you are already qualified, come on out and judge.

Alberta Regional and Western Canadian Regional

Calling All Chili Cooks - we know you're out there!!

Come on up to Calgary for these back to back cookoffs. We need to know if you are planning to come so we can finalize our judges, etc. Verde is from 9:00 till noon, turn in salsa at 11:00 and red at 2:00. Cooks party at the Bilozir's on Friday night.
