WE ARE A REGIONAL THIS YEAR!  With Red, Verde and Salsa Cook-Offs to get you to the WCCC in Charleston.

Saturday,  September 12 in Waynesboro, Virginia at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

 

Join us this year for the PreCook-Off party on Friday night.

Food, Beer & Music provided by us so you get the chance to meet some new friends and catch up with a few old ones.

HEARTLAND REGION AL

.

There is still time to sign up for this weekends' Heartland Regional Chili cookoff in Decatur Illinois. Red, Verde, and Salsa competitions will be offered, with over $1,700 in prize money and trophies going to the winners. This is part of the 24th annual Decatur Celebration with 16 city blocks of entertainment, food vendors, and other activities. Entertainment this year will include Richard Marx, the Spinners, and Abba Gold. I you want to sign up let me know because even though we cook next to a parking lot you'll need a parking pass - so I need to get your name on the pass list.

George (Stinky) Gaskill

I am very sad to tell everyone that this morning August 5, 2009 George (Stinky) Gaskill passed away.  His wife Melody said that he went very peacefully. Stinky was the kindest person I have ever met, he would do anything for anyone, and I will miss my Peppermint Schnapps buddy.

A memorial service is planned for Aug 22 at 11:00 at:

 NEW MEXICO20Back 2 Backs

The New Mexico Back to Backs are filling up with cooks.  Currently, for Saturday, we have 15 reds, 7 verdes and 11 salsas.  On Sunday, we have 17 reds, 7 verdes and 7 salsas.  Everything has enough to qualify, but, of course, we'd like more!  Hope to see you at the Route 66 Casino in Albuquerque this weekend for a great time!
