Booth and Showmanship
.
So many times you go to Chili Cookoffs and they are put on in mall parking lots or local parks where everyone just sets up their pop-ups and go to cooking chili. No Booth or Showmanship, just chili cooking. Nothing for the public to checkout while they are waiting for chili. I've done it many times myself. Well, I want to thank all the teams that decorated their canopies and made the State a Festive affair. We have heard nothing but compliments about the State.
I want to thank Russell and Judy Barnes and his "Sancho Blanco" Team. They had Western Stuntmen performing all day in front of their booth. Russell had spent lots of time and money building a
I want to thank Bruce Pion and his "Killer Chili" team. They have a hearst, coffin and bodies. Bruce cooks out of his coffin with loud scary music playing all day. They are always collecting trophies for booth and showmanship. Bruce has been cooking chili for many years and has all the family involved. His daughter Kari also cooked.
I want to thank our Chili Verde winner Eric Stewart for bringing out his off road Bitchn' race car. Awsome looking thing, and fast also. He has his booth decorated like a pit box. Checkered Flags and all!
I also want to thank "Fiesta Foods" our local market chain for bringing out Mariachi Band and music all day. Fiesta Foods are a very generous company. They decorated their booth and had about 50 people handing out pastries all day to the public. They competed in open chili and menudo also.
I want to thank all the Menudo, Open and ICS cooks for decorating your booths and "Having fun in good taste!"
Thank all of our sponsors when you have a chance, Waker Foods "El Pato" Craig Wendel-Smith, "Dolores Chili Brick", David Munoz, Wal-Mart Store in Highland Flora Viescas and Ed Scott's O'Leary's Irish Pub in
