Blood Drive and Fundraiser for Gumby Donovan

Greetings all,
.
As every one knows, Bill "Gumby" Donovan has been going through a rough ordeal over the past 6 months plus with his bout with leukemia, so I decided to run a combination blood drive followed by a fundraiser with chilies and other goodies available at a local tavern owned and operated by fellow firefighters and their families.
.
I am working with Hoxworth to have the blood drive on July 19th, and then to plan the chili fundraiser the following Saturday at Babe's Tap Room on the 26th. More details will be coming soon, but wanted to get the word out early to the many who have known and loved the Donovans for many years. We all know what they have done over the years for many charities, now it is our time to help our fellow chiliheads during this major ordeal in their lives.

"Chiliblast 2008" Florida Championship

Mark your calendars. The 2008 Florida Championship will on November 22,
2008. The location will be Harley-Davidson/Buell of Brandon 9841 Adamo Drive
Hwy 60) Tampa, FL 33619. This location is convenient for those driving within
the state and is also conveniet to those cooks flying into Tampa or Orlando.
There are several places to stay within a quarter mile of the cookoff location.
We are working on a special rate for the cooks. More to follow has it becomes
available. Looking forward to having you join us this year.
