Chili Cook-off Updates!

-Event Hotel: The Best Western Mezona Inn, located at 250 West Main Street, within walking distance of the event, is offering a show rate of $59.00 per night for a single or double. This includes breakfast. Call them at (800) 528-8299 or (480) 834-9233. Request the Mesa Old West Days rate.

-Prize pool. We will be offering the following prizes:

Red Chili: 1st Place: $300 plus a trophy

2^nd Place: $100 plus a certificate

3^rd Place: Framed certificate

Green Chili 1^st Place: $150.00 plus a trophy

2^nd Place: $75.00 plus a certificate

3^rd Place: Framed certificate

.

Salsa 1^st Place: $50.00 plus a trophy

2^nd Place: $30.00 plus a certificate

3^rd Place: Framed certificate

Your entry fees are what create the prize pools so get those entries in!!! Each category must have 7 entries to qualify for ICS ratings & the prize pool.

-Booth spaces. We will be allotting 4 parking spaces to each entrant in a rectangular pattern, 2 spaces back to back. This should afford plenty of room for your truck, tent and smaller motor home. If you need space for a larger motor home, let us know ASAP so we can allot the space for you.

-Judging: Dick & Nancy Swenberger will be acting as the main officials for the International Chili Society Chili Cookoff. If you have any questions about competing in Mesa you can contact him at GWTWChili@aol.com.

The Wells Chamber of Commerce has had a number replies from cooks who have signed-up, but not paid. They would like to get a handle on the number of cooks, each day.

If you have signed up, but not finalized your arrangements with the Chamber, would you kindly drop Eleanor a line at eleanor@wellschamber.org and just let her know if you will or will not be in Maine, and in which events you will enter.
