TEHACHAPI REGIONAL CHILI COOK-OFF

JUNE 20, 2009

In Historic Downtown Tehachapi, 35 min, east of Bakersfield, Ca.

Chairperson Michelle Vance has been working extremely hard to pull this large event together. There will be food booths, children area, car show, gunfighters, gold panning, music & crafts booths, plus a lot of people.

Overnight RV parking will be available this year in the Moose Lodge parking lot, also parking for cooks and judges in same area. Exit hwy 58 at Mill Street; turn RT on E. Tehachapi, Left on So. Curry Street, then Left on F Street. The Moose Lodge is on the corner of F St. and So. Curry St. Cooks will set up along F St. on both sides of the street. The judging area will be inside the Moose Lodge. Don't forget this is a people's choice cook-off.

We are still in need of cooks in each category and all judges are welcome. Please let Michelle know if you plan to cook. 661-333-5932 Tehachapi can be breezy, but temperature should be nice.

South Jersey Regional

The South Jersey Regional Chili Cook Off takes place on Saturday, July 11th, in Millville, New Jersey. This Cook Off is part of Millville's SummerFest

event. Come enjoy a great day along our riverfront where there will be canoeing, kayaking, river boat cruises, children's activities, vendors and a beer garden. This year our festival takes on a Caribbean theme with all day music provided by the Trinidad North Steel Band and The Mango Men. Event runs from 11AM until 6PM.

The ICS sanctioned Chili Cook Off is the highlight of the day. Prizes include $2,000 first place in Red Chili; $500 first place for Chili Verde and $250 first place for Salsa. The winner of the People's Choice contest wins $1,000. And don't forget to decorate those booths - there's a first place prize of $750 for "Best Booth".

WESTERN REGIONAL-SATURDAY AUG 1ST

BACK TO BACK REGIONALS

By now, you have received your application for this year's Western Regional

Cookoff at Delmar Race Track.

As stated in the letter, we are offering all Red Chili Cooks a very nice

stainless steel measuring spoon set for prepay. Make checks payable to

Western Regional Chili Cookoff and mail in with your application.

Once I receive your application I will mail back you instructions along with

your parking pass.

A reminder, if you have already qualified and want to judge, I need to hear

from you so that I can sent you your admittance tickets and parking pass.
