New England Regional Results - Audrey & Steve Falkowski
The New England Regional Chili Cookoff has had it’s share of nasty weather in the past 6 years. Saturday was no exception. The rain started on Friday and even though there were early predictions of clearing, we only had brief periods with no rain. The cooks braved that as well as the cool 60 degree temps and still served chili to the hardy spectators who refused to let the weather dampen their spirits.

The Woburn Middlesex Ladies Lions Club put on a great show as usual. Best of all we had 5 first time cooks. A few of them told us they are now hooked.

New Hampshire State Results - Audrey & Steve Falkowski

The rain that dampened the New England Regional on Saturday hung around as a damp, cold mist all day Sunday for the New Hampshire State Chili Cookoff. The field from the days of rain was less than appealing, especially for all the chili cooks who had to have their cars pulled out of the mud. Again, the true spirit of the competition and the charity did nothing to stop the cooks and spectators from having a great time.

This is put on by the Alverne High School Friend of Music. One of the best parts of the event is the talent that is showcased on the bandstand. The best was the Alvergne High School Jazz Band. The judges had the best music to judge the chili by. They were great. There were also games, raffles and lots of dancing.

They are planning to keep this cookoff as a back to back with the New England Regional in Woburn, MA, just 30 miles away. Keep this in mind for next year. A great way to spend a weekend in New England.

The results: (With thanks to those cooks who stepped up to keep this official)

Route 66 Regional - Paul Whitney
Attention All Chili Cooks!
If you are planning to attend the Route 66 Regional, please let me know and email me an application. I need to know approximately how many for the party on Friday night and I sure need to know for judges. I know how much you cooks love to be prelim table judges! The raffle we've been running this year has some fantastic prizes. The artwork from Roberta Rogers this year is an original water color and is absolutely beautiful. From Designs West, we have a cabinet with chili's on it valued at over $175.00. Nice stuff! We have maps for you cooks headed on to Payson Saturday night for the Arizona State at the casino down there. You have two choices for the route you take, I'll talk to you about them on the 17th. James will do a fantastic job for all us down there on Sunday. Weather so far is looking great in Flagstaff for the next couple of weeks and should definitely be warmer than last year. Hope to see you in Flagstaff in 2 weeks.
Here is an easier website for the Coconino County Food Handlers permit required in each booth at the Route 66 Regional Chili Cookoff. http://www.az-hospitality.org/food/ See you in Flagstaff
