"Airline travel with propane stoves". From Jim Stoddard
I have received an email from Frontier Airlines customer
service. They said that propane stoves are accepted aboard their
aircraft. I have included it on my website under "Links" and
"Airline travel with propane stoves". I have updated a few
links. You can access my website from this BLOG on the right side of

BEATTY DAYS CHILI COOKOFF
Friends, October 28th is fast approaching. The Beatty Days cookoff is a very unique cookoff. They have Bed Races, Wagon Rides, Wheelbarrow Races, Car show, Old West Shoot outs, Bike show, Vendors, Dutch Oven Cookoff on Sunday and much much more. This is a really fun cookoff and I hope we get enough cooks to make it a Regional. We also will need Judges, so if you are in the market for a fun weekend, come on out to Beatty and help us. They only have Salsa and Red Chili right now, which makes for an easy day. Fred and Patti Summers says they have room for the first 9 people that want to stay with them at their new place. Their number is 775-553-9351.
There is a Motel 6 in Beatty, phone number is 775-553-9090, and the Stagecoach Casino, phone number 775-553-2419. The Motel 6 is fairly new. Let us know if you can be there to either cook or Judge by emailing us at chiliahr@veawb.coop or you can email Ann Marchand Chairperson of the cookoff at annspastandpresent@beattynv.com or the Chamber of Commerce at Beattychamber@beatynv.com
.
On Sunday the 29th there will be an open Dutch Oven Cookoff, Norm has been asked to be Chief Judge and he agreed to do it. This will be a new experience, we were there for the one they had last year, the only problem was, they only had one entry, (Fred Summers) would like to see them get more this year. Phil Morosky did a Dutch Oven Cookoff at this Chili Cookoff this year and it proved to be a lot of fun, and good eating.

Fred & Leah Wieland are retiring as Chief Judge and Chief Scorekeeper. Fred has officially been Chief Judge for 15 years and I don't how many years they put it together for our Honorary Chief Judges. They were Honored & Thanked and lots of tears shed to see them retire from the Worlds Championship. If you missed the opportunity to tell them thanks we know that they will be at Apple Valley on Oct 21 and in January at Nevada State in Laughlin. They are such an integral part of our Chili Family and the ICS, I can't believe they are going to leave us (and have not gotten that impression at all) so you should have plenty of opportunities in the future to say thanks and have them help with your challenges. It will just be different next year to see David & Kathy Hipskin wearing the titles of Chief Judge & Chief Scorekeeper. They have very large shoes to fill and will have the support of many years of experience to back them from the team that has been built over the years.
.
Congratulations to all the Winners and to David & Kathy.
