New England Regional

The New England Regional Chili Cookoff is May 2, 2009 in a beautiful country setting in Connecticut.

We're very happy to once again have Steve Falkowski (WCCC 97 Red Champion) as our chief judge and Audrey Falkowski as our chief score keeper.

We'll have food for the cooks in the morning as well as some of the best blues music you've ever heard all day. We've got DEFCON, the official hot sauce of the NJ Devils doing their "Death Match Hot Wing Eating contest"! We don't want to leave out the kids so we'll also have all kinds of fun stuff for your kids to do! Speaking of kids...we'll have the "Jim Heywood Youth Division" for your kids (or grandkids) to enter to win prize money and to carry on the tradition of cooking chili and having fun with your friends!

We hope to see you May 2,2009.

Dear Chili Cooks,

How would YOU like to be on ABC's Wife Swap??? I was recently contacted by ABC as they are looking for a Chili Cook angle for a future episode of their hit show Wife Swap.

If you contact Jessica Jorgensen at 646-747- 7947 and you must mention my name...and meet her criteria.....you could be on TV....and could quite possibly get $20,000!!

Good luck!

South Florida Back-to-Back Regionals

.

AMCF - CHILI CHICK REGIONAL

&

AMCF - ACREAGE REGIONAL

.

April 25th & 26th

www.acreagechilicookoff.com

.

First off let me thank everyone involved in asking us to host the South Florida back to back regionals, I and all my committee heads will do our best to follow the great example set by the Rotary Club in Key Largo.

When we started The Acreage Music and Chili Fest last year we didn't really have a set plan, honestly I just wanted to have an event in my community that everyone could come to and get together for the day. I figured a couple of local bands and a bounce house or two…. Well for those of you who were there you know it didn't quite turn out that way, we kept getting input from people and volunteers from the community kept stepping forward and next thing I knew we had an event covering three football fields and four baseball fields.

.

So now here we go again. This year I have a bit better idea what to expect and a list of things learned from last year to help make this years cook-off even better and more fun.

For starters we will have a judges and cooks party the night before for all of those who come in a little early. I have a local bar that is providing free beer (always nice) a great dance floor with a band and a pre-cookoff performance by The Chili Chicks.

We have a sponsor hotel with greatly reduced rates for participants

We will be opening the gates for cook set-up at 6:00am for those that are afflicted with the get up early disease.

We will have RV parking available (sorry no power)

We will be bringing in four Nashville recording acts and we will have bands on stage all day, both days (two stages)

We have submitted to The Guinness book of world records for the "Worlds longest inflatable obstacle course"

For those of you who will be bringing your kids, all kids at our events get to play all day in the kids area – multiple bounce houses, rock wall, etc….for free.

.

For those of you who joined us last year at our event I'd like to thank you. For those of you who didn't get the chance to join us last year I look forward to meeting you this year. Sergei Kowalchik has been very instrumental in guiding my team from the beginning and has provided vital tips and suggestions to help the event become what is so quickly, thankfully he is returning this year as head judge. Now what we need to complete the picture is your participation, we have saved a great event (the South Florida back to back regionals) and boosted a good new event (the Acreage Music & Chili Fest) but in order to succeed moving forward we need you, the cooks to come out in force.

.

My promise to you;

I and my team will always do everything we can to provide you and the public in general with a great event that is well run and loads of fun.

.

The event names are AMCF- Chili Chicks Regional on Sat 4/25

and the AMCF- Acreage Regional on Sun 4/26

.

The theme is FUN and both days will be full of good times, great people and awesome chili.

See you there

Robert Trepp

Chairman AMCF – Acreage Regional

Fire & Spice New Hampshire Regional

The Sanbornville Firemen's Association is proud to sponsor the Inaugural Fire & Spice New Hampshire Regional Chili Cook-off in Wakefield NH. Sanctioned by the International Chili Society, this event proves to be fun filled and tasty. The winner advances to the World Chili Cook-off Championships for a chance to win $25,000 and bragging rights. So, if you weekend warriors and culinary perfectionists think you have the best recipe for chili or salsa, let's put it to the test. On September 5th, 2009 (raindate of September 6th), our chili cook-off starts with a tribute to firefighters as they march down the main street in town with their fellow firefighters. Coupled with a classic car show and a craft fair, we are expecting a phenomenal turnout. Live music is set to accompany the festivities from a variety of groups. All proceeds benefit the Wakefield Fire Department to help defray the costs of updated fire suppression equipment and training. For more information, to register, or to sponsor our event, go to http://fireandspice.synthasite.com/ or call 603.522.2064.

DESERT RAT REGIONAL CHILI COOKOFF

Circle The Wagons

.

It looks like we are going to have an excellent turnout of RVs at the Desert Rat Regional Chili Cookoff on March 28/09. And there is a possibility that we could have a final table for red chili. The only place we are lacking contestants is in the stew challenge Friday night. At this time Dirty Ole Phil only has two contestants and he would like to have seven. He needs to know by Monday night otherwise the stew challenge won't make the cut. So if you would like to tantalize us with your culinary expertise, please, please let Phil know ASAP. I for one will be very disappointed if we do not have a stew challenge Friday night. Because that was going to be dinner, and you all know I'm wasting away to a ton. Speaking of chow there will be a free breakfast for the first 50 cooks Saturday morning from: 07:00 to 0900 and also a chicken dinner Saturday night, 8 bucks a person. This is being made possible by the American Legion California City. Don't forget Mr. Ughlee will be emceeing all day Saturday. So we are pretty much guaranteed to have a great day. Remember we will be sending three contestants to The World's Championship Chili Cookoff. I will be looking forward to seeing you all there this coming weekend.

Good luck and good chili cooking, Capt. Jim
