LAUGHLIN Back 2 Backs JANUARY 2009
.
Hi Chili Heads
Patty is trying to warm up the rooms in Laughlin for our Chili Cook Off.
I sure hope all you chili people can make it as you have in the past.
We will have Booth & Showmenship this year because some of you
really want to have some fun. I think that is GREAT!!!!.
I'm asking for some Chili Judges to let me know if you are coming
out. I know the times are tough but the chili heads always make sure
that you will have a good time & I'm sure the tasting will be awesome.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
Gary & Dawn

PS: Since we are having some COLD weather, Is anyone interested in Racing Snowmobiles on a CLOSED COURSE on the River, Contest Weekend ??

MONDAY - Dec. 15, 2008

After-Thanksgiving Back-to-Back Regionals

at Laughlin, Nevada

.

The chili cooks were blessed with wonderful weather, with a fabulous view of the Colorado River, cooking at the Avi Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, in this two-day double-header Regional cookoff. The cook site was on the grass, accessible by vehicle, against the buffet and wind-protected. If you have never cooked at this cook-off, you'll be pleasantly surprised if you add this event to this your chili schedule.

.

Jim Maehl was Chief Judge, Susie Baumberger was Chairperson, and Donnie Gordon was scorekeeper, assisted by Nicole, Louise, Val and Willma. Ron Burt was gopher/spoon jockey. People's Choice proceeds were awarded 50% to the winning cook, and 50% to the Lancaster Rotary Children's Literacy Project. Celia "Tootie" Gray (Susie's sister) was the Lancaster Rotary representative handling People's Choice.
