Pana Lincoln Prairie Trail Regional
Chili Cookoff Results
May 17, 2008
.
Great weather and Biscuit and Gravy from the Pana Masonic Lodge greeted the Chili Cooks and their support teams for the 2008 Pana Day's International Chili Society Sanctioned Lincoln Prairie Trail Regional Chili Cookoff. Cooks from six States gathered in Downtown Pana in the midst of the 50 year old, eight-block "Pana Days" street fair. Over half of the cooks entered in the event have made appearances on the Food Channel. It is estimated that near 6,000 were in attendance for the three days as the Pana Chamber of Commerce strived to support the family orientation of a free event for all ages. Cookoff sponsor, Ray's Chilli, donated a pop up tent to raffle to raise funds for fellow ICS cook Bill Donovan. Ray's owner, Jay Nicole, was humbled by the participating cook's outpouring of help to the tune of $385.00 that will be mailed to the Donovans on Monday, May 19. The Pana Chamber thanks all the sponsors, cooks, judges, Head Judge Bob Hall and assistant Rex Nicole. The 2009 Event will be held at Pana Days on May 16, 2009
