VA State Championship Chili Cook-Off

Winners List:

.

May 1, 2010 - Roanoke, VA

.

What follows is the list of winners from the VA State Championship Chili Cook-Off last Saturday, as well as a link to the newspaper article that ran in the Roanoke newspaper the following day. I'm really, really sorry that I'm only now sending you this information; this week has been very crazy and I've had very little time at my desk. Please forgive the delay in sending out this information.

.

Lots of talented Cooks, lots of delicious chili and salsa, and some absolutely gorgeous weather last Saturday enabled Greenvale School to pull off our third most successful Chili Cook-Off on record, raising more than $33,000 for Greenvale School's program, and I credit a lot of our success to the FABULOUS Chili Cooks who competed this year and drew a huge crowd of patrons! Congratulations again to everyone !!!!! We applaud your talent and your success last Saturday! Thank you very much for your support of Greenvale School!

.

Please let me know if you'd like any additional details about the VA State Championship Chili Cook-Off, and have a great day! Thank you so much to the ICS and the Dick's Chili World blog for any publicity you can share with our event and our talented participants!

2010 WCCC

.

I only formalized the agreement with the City of Manchester for the WCCC this past Saturday afternoon. Further details will be posted on the ICS website and the blog ASAP. The Radisson Hotel is our host property and sponsor. It is directly across the street from the site – Veteran's Park. The special code for chili cooks and judges will NOT be in affect until later this week when they can enter the information into their system. If you call for reservations and don't get the chili rate, call back later. The park is surrounded by restaurants, bars and shopping. The parking lot for the cooks/judges is also directly across the street. Southwest Airlines has direct flights into Manchester-Boston airport which is five minutes from downtown.

WCCC 2010 in Manchester, NH Insider's Guide

.

As 25+ year residents of the area, Mary Alice and I are preparing an "Insider's Guide" to Manchester. We plan to give a list of grocery stores, Wal-Mart's, Targets, Sams, BJ's, and Costco locations. Where you can find good produce, tri-tip, and more. We also plan a list of restaurants and watering holes in a variety of locations and price ranges. We'll also include a list of sightseeing ideas, shopping malls, cultural events and more. We know the area very well and I actually work only a few blocks from the cookoff site. If there is anything you want included, please let us know.

.

If you have any other questions about the area or anything we can help you with please feel free to contact us.

.

We'll be happy to help in any way we can.
