PORK for CHILI VERDE
Hello, Chili Friends,
We enjoyed seeing our many chili friends at the World's Championship Chili Cookoff this last weekend. Congratulations to all of you. Even if you didn't win or place, it is an accomplishment just to have qualified to compete. Many very good cooks did not qualify.
Now that the new chili year is beginning, we have some news on the chili verde front. Those of you who have been using the Kirkland pork sirloins from Costco for your chili verde meat probably know by know that Costco has discontinued carrying these. The good news is that chilihead Eddie LaCross in Arizona has procured six cases of this product by special order. Each case contains eight three-packs, and Eddie will sell either a half case or a whole case. There is only one case available. The cost is the same that it has always been, around $13.00 per three-pack. Eddie will deliver your product to the River Resorts Regional Cookoff on November 17th. He is not prepared to ship orders. Bring a cooler and ice or dry ice to keep the pork frozen until you get it home. Eddie's Phone Number is 623-486-4153

October 20, 2007 is one of your first chances for a district win. Get started early while you are at your peak. Mix up your spices and make your plans to get to Anderson CA on October 20 for the Three Shasta's District Cookoff at the Anderson Wal-Mart.
Anderson is just south of Redding and about 20 miles north of Red Bluff. The weather averages about 75 degrees with perfect fall skies.
